چکیده

Accurate estimation of the surface dose in radiotherapy patients with head and neck cancer is very important terms treatment. The aim this study to evaluate for intensity-modulated (IMRT) using thermoluminescent dosimeters (TLDs). In addition, it aimed examine estimates treatment planning system (TPS) different grid sizes. Before computed tomography (CT) images were taken 15 patients, 5 points determined region marked a way that would not cause artifacts. IMRT plans are created 1.5 2.5 mm Surface doses obtained TPS calculations TLD measurements at region. from sizes compared. All received 3-stage adaptive (ART) comparison was repeated each plan. According plan 0, height size 4.06% 7.87%, respectively. Plan 1, difference between 4.00% 8.15% 1.5mm 2.5mm, respectively (p=0.00 p=0.00). For 2, 4.07% 9.96% all higher than calculations. calculated usually lower prescribed dose. Therefore, during evaluation plans, should be considered underestimates This ratio can by dosimetric measurements. Thermoluminescent suitable equipment process.

Dose Distribution Analysis of Rapid Arc and Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy Plan in Head and Neck Cancer

Introduction: Globally, intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) is considered as highly precise and accurate method of radiotherapy planning. This technique amplifies spatial dose distribution conformity by modulating the intensity of radiation beams in each sub-volume. Additionally, it can reduces the dose to surrounding critical organs and deliver the planned dose to targets with the nom...

Intensity-modulated radiotherapy increases dose to the brachial plexus compared with conventional radiotherapy for head and neck cancer.

OBJECTIVE The preferential use of intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) over conventional radiotherapy (CRT) in the treatment of head and neck cancer has raised concerns regarding dose to non-target tissue. The purpose of this study was to compare dose-volume characteristics with the brachial plexus between treatment plans generated by IMRT and CRT using several common treatment scenarios. ...

Analysis of Dosimetric Indices for Evaluating Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy Plans of Head and Neck Cancer Patients

To characterize the radiation dose distribution in the target volume, various dosimetric indices are required which assist in making a choice of an optimum treatment plan. This study is primarily aimed at the analysis of various radiation dose indices essential for the evaluation of therapeutic plans by employing Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT) on head and neck cancer patients. A group ...

Patterns of local-regional recurrence after conformal and intensity-modulated radiotherapy for head and neck cancer

AIM To evaluate the patterns of loco-regional recurrences in head and neck cancer patients METHODS: Twenty-six out of 112 patients treated with primary or postoperative 3D CRT or IMRT for their primary and recurrent disease between 2007 and 2013 were included. The CT images of recurrent disease were rigidly registered with the primary CT images for each patient. To assess overlaps and overlap l...
